WABAUNSEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division Vehicles.

The Patrol Division Officers are first to respond to your request for help and the first to respond to emergency ("911") and non-emergency calls for service.

After completing entrance level training, new deputies are assignde a Field Training Officer (FTO) and after completing field training they are released to solo patrol. The Patrol Division is responsible for the proactive enforcement of Kansas laws and the reporting of crimes.

Patrol is the primary activity of the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office. Deputy responsibility includes the following functions.

1. Prevention and detection of crime

2. Protection of life and property

3. Apprehension of offenders

4. Control of traffic

The Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office has in place procedures for handling various types of calls including accidents, arrests, criminal investigations, driving while intoxicated, first aid, use of force, evidence collection, report writing, stolen vehicles, child abuse and many others. These procedures are put in place for the different types of investigations the Sheriff's Office is called on to probe.

Some of these calls include Arson, Assault, Bac Check complaints, Burglary and Trespass, Narcotics, Crinal Mischief, Possession of Stolen Property, Firearms, Forgery, Gambling, Kidnapping, Larceny, Disorderly Conduct, Riot, Robbery, Sex Offenses and numerous others.
